Hey,
You know those precious moments when covers don’t just reinterpret originals but completely transform them? That’s precisely what Dublin’s own Fontaines D.C. (FDC) have done with Bring Me The Horizon’s "Can You Feel My Heart" in their recent Like A Version session for Triple J. They stripped this emo classic down to its rawest form, rebuilding it into something incredibly hypnotic, masterfully sliding in a nod to Nirvana’s "Heart-Shaped Box". That turns this performance into a kind of double cover. One broken-hearted anthem bleeding into another, a quiet conversation between pain and beauty across generations of sound.
Grian Chatten’s deep, almost spoken-word delivery turns the song into an anthem that simmers with darkness and lingers in your chest long after it ends. The heart-thudding rhythm anchors the song like a pulse under the skin. It's subtle, yet it pulls you in immediately, like you’ve been dropped into a body trying to hold itself together. I rarely have such a visceral reaction to a song, but this one left me speechless. Within seconds, I had goosebumps. By the end, I had tears in my eyes. It’s beautiful in that way that hurts a little.
Now, do yourself a favour. Find a quiet space, put on your headphones, and let this one wash over you. And if this is your introduction to FDC, welcome one of the most compelling bands to emerge in the last decade.

Have a great weekend.
Until next time!
Wow, this was fantastic!! Have to say, I’ve really enjoyed hearing how the band’s sound has evolved over the last 5+ years
Very interesting. It reminds me of nostalgic King Crimson songs from years ago. Especially the light background music🦋
