Hey!
It's that time of year again - the holidays have come and gone, and I hope we've all had a chance to indulge in some tasty gingerbread cookies, mandarins 🍊 (tangerines, clementines or whatever you call them), and other goodies to satisfy our hunger gremlins. If you’re anything like me, you chose to binge-watch some TV series (I chose Bad Sisters, and Firefly Lane), play games (love Disco Elysium 🪩), read books (Four Thousand Weeks - truly groundbreaking!), and spend a lot of much-needed time with loved ones 🫶.
Let me know what’s your favorite memory from these past 2 weeks:
In the last couple of days, I’ve worked on my 2022 summary and plans for 2023. YearCompass was a huge help to me. It’s my second year using this tool. I loved how it made the process of decluttering my mind much easier. All sections are well structured, and many questions and tasks are uniquely stated. Also, it’s awesome, that you can pick your preferred size and form of it (A4 or A5, digital or pdf for print).
I am not into setting unrealistic goals that are tough to stick to. I like to start small and reach for low-hanging fruits first, and then work my way up. Focusing on small, achievable goals that will set us up for success, in the long run, is my way to go. No need to go big or go home - I like to take it one step at a time.
As I prioritize mental health, emotional and physical well-being, each year I’m really looking forward to starting January mindfully and actively with 30-day journeys by YWA. It’s my 4th year doing it, and I think these 30 min (or less) yoga sessions are a great starting point in case of new years commitments. If you need to restart a habit of daily practice, you can join it anytime 🧘♀️
This year I also signed up for a 30 Days To Better Habits - a free course with short e-mail lessons from James Clear, who wrote the brilliant "Atomic Habits" book. It excites me a lot and I’m very hopeful about how it may help rebuild my routines. Btw, subscribe to his newsletter https://jamesclear.com/3-2-1, if you haven’t already done it. Receiving these e-mails is a highlight of my week all year long.
