Hi there,
How are ya? Any special plans for these last few days of 2023? Is there something you always like to do in this transition time? I have two fave end-of-year rituals that I need to go through to begin a new year with good energy accumulated, and I want to share them with you.
But before we dive in, here’s a list of my go-to focus playlists:
write it all out 〰️ ambient session - the newest one!
I don’t know how about you, but when I need to focus on something, like for example writing, I usually pick vocal-free, instrumental type of music, or just sit in silence with noise-cancellation headphones on 🎧. Each of the playlists above is non-invasive and pleasant to listen to as background music to basically any activity that requires concentration. I hope you’ll find something for yourself there.
Now, let’s move on!
🧭 YearCompass
I’m gonna fill it third year in a row. YearCompass is a nicely designed booklet with a set of stimulating questions that really help to slow down, reflect, clear the mind, and get clarity, verbalizing the accomplishments, and future needs. Each year, I approach it more and more relaxed, taking into account my limited possibilities and all sorts of possible blockers, and things I do not control. Thanks to this, my approach to planning in general, and self-development has evolved significantly. If you’ve never tried it before, I’ll strongly recommend you to give it a chance.
📚 Goodreads
Goodreads is where I keep track of what I have read, what I’m currently reading, and a constantly growing list of want-to-reads. Setting a goal of how many books I’d like to read throughout a year when joining the Goodreads Reading Challenge really helped me prioritize reading, and establish an iron rule - read at least a few pages every day before going to bed.
The newest book I’ve added in there was the one Santa has brought to me - “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life: The History of the Disc Jockey” by Bill Brewster & Frank Broughton. I've only read a few pages, but I already know it's going to be a crazy good ride! 🚀🪩🎶
Thanks for being here, reading, and listening - it means the world to me 🫶.
I wish you to feel happy, creative, and strong in the upcoming 2☺︎24. Someone wise once said to me: „Hard choices - easy life, easy choices - hard life", and it became my main life motto. You know, nothing worth having comes easy, so I wish you to be stubborn, ballsy, self-aware, and surrounded by people who push you to be your best self 🎉
Until next time!
Yours,

Thanks for the playlists! Always looking for mellow/ambient music to help me sleep as i have pretty severe insomnia. Can’t listen to music when I write, but the hustle and bustle of daily life sounds are perfect for me to write. Go figure! Will check out Year Compass. Happy New Years!
