Tomorrow is Father’s Day in Poland, so as an early gift I want to dedicate today’s Midweek Crisis #30 playlist to my awesome Dad - Andrzej (Andrew) 🥰 It is he, who introduced me to the world of music in my early childhood. You can expect a lot of Santana, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Pink Floyd, The Animals, The Doors, Dire Straits… everything that reminds me of my Dad.
My Father is a huge music lover. He loves searching for new sounds and sharing his fascinations with his closest ones. It’s something that I definitely inherited from him. My Dad introduced me to different songs and genres, exposing me to the wide world of music that exists, from Vivaldi, through Cesária Evora to Black Sabbath. He instilled in me a true appreciation for music, and I will forever be grateful to him for that.
When I was younger, my Father used to always play music around the house and in the car. The louder the better 🔥. He turned the volume up, nod his head along to the beat, and hummed to himself with a spark in his eyes while cleaning the house or hitting the road.
One of my earliest memories is of my Dad sitting me down in front of the stereo and playing me one of Santana’s albums. I was transfixed by the sound of the music and the amazing artwork on the album cover. From that moment on, I was hooked on music.
As a true melomaniac, my Father owns unique record players and sound systems, and a huge collection of CDs and vinyl records. He likes record stores, and browsing the racks, looking for new music to check out. Clear, and pure sound is something that we both love. The quality of headphones and recordings is important for us. When I have doubts about what sound-related device should I pick, he’s the first person I’d contact.
I love how my Dad took me to concerts when I was younger. Thanks to it I quickly developed a taste for live music. There's nothing like seeing your favorite band or artist perform live, and I have my Father to thank for introducing me to that world.
Music has always been a way for me to connect with my Dad. Even now, when we're not able to spend as much time together as we used to, we can always bond over our shared love of music, inspiring one another with new sounds, or go together to see our favorite bands live.
I know I wouldn't be the melomaniac I am today if it wasn't for my father's influence. So thanks, Dad! 🤗

Enjoy today’s playlist and have a great day!

Sweet memories, Stygi! Listening to Santana also reminds me of my parents, coincidently! Not because they're big fans, but we used to have the Supernatural record (and DVD) playing at home all the time when it came out. They specially loved the track Corazon Espinado, with Maná.
I love this! When I was little, we always had music on in the house- certainly much more than the TV. My dad was also the sort of guy that would endlessly tweak his stereo set up (or equalizer settings) looking for just the right sound. His greatest legacy is passing along a love for music to me.
I didn't know my stepdad that well, but after he passed away last year, I came into a box of his records. Going through them has been a really cool window into who he was as a person.
