Weekly Report No. 1 🫡🎶
Bunch of music discoveries from this week - Generationals, Royalingo, RE:UM, La Giang | MC #57
Surprise!
I know it may be confusing. It’s not even a midweek, so what the heck I’m doing here?
For the last few days, I’ve been intensely thinking about the future of the Midweek Crisis, and areas to improve. Writing only once a month and posting an occasional song paired with a drawing turned out to be not enough. I need more contact with you and more of our little interactions. I love it when we exchange song recommendations, and you share a bit of your world with me.
There are a bunch of music-related routines in my life that I need to follow in order to remain sane. Almost every day I sniff around in search of new sounds on sites like YouTube, Soundcloud, or Bandcamp. I listen to a lot of things that are being recommended by other melomaniacs on Substack (
, , , , , & more), or Instagram. I admit that I’m that weirdo who checks out music shared in Instagram Reels. And what's more - I can't wait for the Spotify Wrapped thing that will happen at the end of November or early December. Also, ever since Spotify launched its flagship features "Discover Weekly" and "Release Radar" back in 2016, I’ve been opening every single month by creating a new Spotify playlist to keep track of my carefully selected findings. So why not share a part of it with you on an ongoing basis?
That’s why I decided that from now on each weekend I’ll share with you a couple of my handpicked and most recent finds wrapped in a new format - the MC’s "Weekly Report".
What’s also important: each song featured in Weekly Reports will be added to the MC’s Weekly Report Playlist, which I encourage you to follow / hit ♡ button (Save to Your Library) on Spotify.
I hope you’ll enjoy this change.
Anyway, let’s dive in!
▶️ Generationals feat. Sarah Quintana - "In Green"
I don’t get it. Why this song isn’t more popular? It has it all - unconventional melody, strong lyrics, and gorgeous vocals. It caught my ear so much that I managed to listen to it like 762487238942394823 times already.
▶️ Royalingo - "Aeroplane"
"Dreamy" - that’s the word that fits this song most accurately. It takes you high above the ground for a lovely 4-minute flight. If this piece doesn't make you feel wanderlust, I don't know what else will… ✈️
▶️ RE:UM - "Nighthawk"
I’d say it’s short but gold 🏆. Everything in there is sexy, both melodically and vocally (ooooffff I don’t know how about you, but I have a thing for such raspy voices 🔥). It leaves you craving for more.
▶️ La Giang - "Revision"
It’s a super fresh release, that came out yesterday. And it was definitely one of the main highlights of my Friday. Melodic, romantic techno is one of my sweet spots, and this piece encompasses all that I enjoy about this genre - infectious energy that makes you wanna dance, atmospheric textures, and emotional depth with subtle vocals.
I know that I recently wrote about La Giang in Polish Gems - Part III 💎🇵🇱⚡️ Electronic edition… but I just can’t recommend him enough. Can’t wait for his upcoming EP. Fortunately, January is not that far away.
And that would be almost all for today.
I have two last tasks for you:

Have a marvelous Saturday,
Thanks for the shoutout! I voted for #1, but it was reallllly close between that and #2. Great tracks all around! One of my latest finds is "Racecar" by a duo called Hey, I'm Outside. It's a little lo-fi, a little fuzzy, and really catchy.
I like this new format!
